After two years of McClatchy's continued refusal to bargain in good faith, our members had enough. We elected to strike, and will do so until we received a fair contract.
Within the first hours of our strike, McClatchy suspended our health care benefits. This is a choice the company made purely to retaliate and scare us. We are not scared, and we are not backing down.
Our members now will not have health insurance to pay for upcoming doctors appointments, physical therapy and other needed physical and mental health care.
The financial support we receive will help us strike as long as needed to guarantee fair working conditions for current and future Star-Telegram journalists. Together, we can protect local news.
